Razor Light Boxes Premiere at the IMAX

Razor ultra slim LED light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/razor-led-light-box.php) were supplied in large 6-sheet and 30” x 40” sizes to the prestigious BFI IMAX cinema at London Waterloo with the UK's biggest cinema screen. Due to the high quality, slim line nature and high brightness of the Razor light box, it was seen as the perfect solution to advertise the biggest upcoming 3D movies on the most sophisticated motion-picture projection system in the world. Along with the Razor LED light boxes W&Co also supplied custom RGB colour changing LED Light Walls (http://www.w-co.co.uk/led-feature-wall.php) complete with toughened glass fronts for the IMAX`s brand new custom made ticket counter. Each RGB light wall came complete with its own DMX controller which allows easy control over what colours and sequence of colours the user wants to display.
The BFI (British Film Institute) were really blown away with the illuminated displays and commented, “The BFI IMAX cinema in Waterloo is one of the highest grossing IMAX cinemas in the World and as part of a refurbishment project we installed W&Co light boxes to advertise our current and future presentations. Being one of the most technologically advanced cinemas in Europe we wanted to present this image to our customers in everything we do and W&Co LED light boxes provide a modern and energy efficient solution. Maintenance requirement is minuscule compared with old florescent tube light boxes and the running costs are substantially less, by our calculation they should pay for themselves in 24 months just with the energy savings.”

Light Walls Without Limits

LED Light Walls were seen as the perfect solution by a firm of Chartered Surveyors who had been requested to ‘fast track’ an interior lighting feature wall within the Royal Navy Collingwood Club at HMS Collingwood in Hampshire; an establishment which was formed in 1940 as an entry camp for new recruits.

The surveyors supplied us with drawings for the proposal of two large format curved graphic screens which they were interested in illuminating using the innovative edge-lit LED light panel technology. From their drawings we put together a proposal for the client for the full construction of the illuminated walls to be manufactured from an MDF and plywood framework, clad in Royal Navy blue ACM material, complete with a series of high bright LED light wall panels to illuminate their graphics.

After a few modifications the proposal was approved. Both curved LED light walls were manufactured in manageable sections before being fully assembled and installed on site. The final results were amazing, as you can see from the photo above. The Royal Navy was extremely impressed with the finished illuminated display and very pleased at the speed at which the project was turned around.

LED Light Walls

LED Light Walls (http://www.w-co.co.uk/led-feature-wall.php) can be produced to super large sizes yet start from only 30mm deep. They are illuminated by high bright LEDs which are situated at the edge of the acrylic lighting panel. The light is refracted outwards by an etching pattern which is unique to each individual sized panel to offer the optimum light distribution possible. The lines are obscured and the light distribution enhanced by a sheet of opal acrylic placed over the top of the etched acrylic panel. The LED's offer great energy savings too in comparison to traditional lighting.

LED Light Walls are a fantastic way of illuminating large format display gr
aphics which can be printed directly to the opal acrylic front sheet, printed to self adhesive vinyl or backlit prints such as Duratrans can be utilised with the addition of a clear front sheet to hold it in place. Often the LED light panels are used without display graphics to simply create stunning illuminated surfaces for walls, ceilings, floors or table tops and have proved very popular with architects, shop fitters, banks and retailers.
