Fabric face light box the height of fashion in Mayfair

High end ladies clothing brand, Whistles, have recently opened a new flagship store on Dover Street in Mayfair, London and W&Co were privileged to be selected for the project to supply a large fabric face light box.

The brief was to produce an ultra slim (40mm) unit at 800mm x 3000mm without compromising on quality, with bright and even LED illumination. W&Co were able to deliver the unit to site within 3 weeks ensuring that it was installed in plenty of time for the opening of the store.

The FabriLite Slim light box with a changeable tension fabric face was supplied with a high quality full colour dye-sublimation textile print to catch the eye of shoppers and passersby. The slim design and even cool white illumination suit the brand’s sleek and minimalist style, complimenting the white walls and large windows featured in this store.

W&Co are continuing to work with Whistles on exciting new store projects throughout the UK.

W&Co help drive sales at BMW Park Lane

Following success with previous car showroom display projects at BMW Westminster, W&Co were invited to produce a range of light boxes for a new state of the art showroom in Mayfair, London - BMW Park Lane. A selection of illuminated and non-illuminated fabric face displays were custom made to showcase a wide range of classic and modern BMW models on display. The frameless, chrome finished units, many LED illuminated, compliment the high quality brand and create a stunning backdrop within the contemporary showroom space.

One particularly large format Fabric Face Light Box, within the Motorrad display area of the showroom, reaches five and half metres high and actually spans two floors of the building.

The lightboxes were chosen not only for their high quality build and frameless design, but also because they offer the client the flexibility to easily replace and/or reuse the dye-sublimation printed textile graphics. W&Co Fabric Face systems offer a front loading graphic change whereby a rubber lip easily pushes into the face of the unit by hand without the need for specialist tools or installation teams.

W&Co signage flying high at Stansted Airport

Business magnate, Mohamed Al-Fayed, is the proud owner of a brand new £12m luxury private jet centre at Stansted Airport, in Essex, and W&Co were privileged to be awarded the contract for supplying and installing the huge "fayair" illuminated built up letters to both sides of the high-spec hangar complex built by LPL Construction.

W&Co worked closely with the LPL Construction team over 4 days to overcome the difficult task of lifting the giant 4m high individual letters into place using a 53m lifting platform – the 6 letters on either side of the complex span a massive 15m, the biggest illuminated built up letters (http://www.w-co.co.uk/built-up-lettering.php) that W&Co have ever supplied. The letters were manufactured from RAL 'Sky Blue' powder coated aluminium and halo illuminated with high quality LEDs. Oversized flat cut letters (http://www.w-co.co.uk/flat-cut-lettering.php) were installed behind each of the letters and finished to match the colour of the external hangar cladding to act as a reflector plate and to ensure even halo illumination.

Mr Al Fayed visited throughout the project and personally told the site team that he was very impressed with the high quality of all the work undertaken.

If the above project has caught your eye why not check out the new custom signs section of our website. We have a broad range of illuminated signs, built up lettering, flat cut lettering, sign trays, post and panel signs and monoliths.

Many of these signs can be completely custom made to suit your requirements. For more information please see the following link:  http://www.w-co.co.uk/custom_signs.php

Simply Be Light Up High Street

Simply Be, the catalogue brand that specialises in larger size womenswear, wanted to bring their plus-size fashion range to the high street and has opened two brand new stores in Liverpool and Bury with an aim of giving customers the ultimate shopping experience. This fantastic shopping experience is enhanced by the large format illuminated graphics positioned around the new stores which adds to the wow factor the stores generate. Simply Be knew they wanted large format light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/large-format-lightboxes.php) for the new stores and when they saw W&Co's LED Fabric Face light box systems they knew they had the perfect solution.

Simply Be Fabric Face light boxes

Utilising the Frameless Fabric Face LED light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/fabric-face-light-boxes-wall.php) in both 40mm and 100mm depths, the store was designed to have a range of light boxes installed from the entrance all the way through to the state of the art changing rooms at the back. The Fabric Face system is so versatile that the same profile can be used in a variety of locations and sizes without compromising the look and functionality of the display. A large majority of the 40mm deep LED light boxes, the 'Fabric Face 40' were manufactured at 2.7m high x 750mm wide, a size not realistically possible for snap frame light boxes, and these were cleverly mounted to a sliding rail system which revealed shelving for extra stock of clothing behind. The 100mm deep 'Fabric Face 100' light box was reserved for even bigger light boxes with the largest being 2043mm x 1865mm installed at the end of the cash desk. These units can be fully recessed which allowed them to be used not only flush and surface mounted but also within a custom built desk.

Another advantage of using W&Co's Frameless Fabric Face system is that when the store comes to change their artwork it can be printed onto the special backlit material and simply posted to the store for the shop staff to fit themselves within minutes, without having to rely on a team of specialist shop-fitters to update their image. This will make a big saving over the coming years. The energy efficient LED's will also make a big saving on the stores electricity costs which could be up to 80% less than if they had installed fluorescent tube illuminated displays.

In addition to the graphic light boxes we were also given the opportunity to supply some more architectural feature lighting in the form of the LED Illuminated Ceiling Discs which were hung from the ceiling in the Bury store. We custom built the 2300mm diameter ceiling discs using the same principal of the Fabric Face graphic light boxes but just leaving the tensioned fabric unprinted and plain white. Normally ceiling lighting like this can be extremely expensive but our fabric face system offers a high quality alternative at a fraction of the cost.

Thomas Sabo Love Fabric Face Light Boxes

Thomas Sabo, renowned for its high-quality and special design silver jewellery, chose W&Co's fabric face light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/fabric-face-light-boxes.php) for their new retail store at Meadow Hall Shopping Centre in Sheffield. Driven by continuing success Thomas Sabo decided to set up its own retail outlets during the late 90's. In rapid succession, exclusive stores, shops-in-shops and sales agencies were established in many countries throughout Europe, Asia and America.

Before calling upon the expertise of W&Co, Thomas Sabo had installed large format light boxes with acrylic panels that bowed and flexed under the weight of the acrylic causing the backlit printed graphic to ripple and look untidy – we advised that the fabric face graphics would eliminate these problems with the added advantage of a completely frameless display that can be produced in one piece to much larger sizes than traditional acrylic faced light boxes.
The other major benefit is that the fabric face light box allows the print to be easily changed from the front using the specially designed rubber edging so that store staff can update the graphics themselves in a matter of seconds with no need for any specialist tools or installation teams.

At Meadowhall a 2m x 1m frameless light box was fully recessed in-between jewellery display cabinets to give a clean design finish with full focus on the colourful fabric printed graphic. Thomas Sabo who pride themselves on attention to detail, quality and keeping up with design trends are looking to continue using the fabric face light box system and Manchester's Trafford Centre store is next in line.

Georg Jensen model fabric face Light Boxes

W&Co’s high quality fabric face frameless light boxes (http://www.w-co.co.uk/fabric-face-light-boxes.php) were approved by Georg Jensen, the Scandinavian luxury lifestyle brand, for use within their retail stores selling the finest jewellery, silver, watches and home décor. Quality is clearly an important factor for this high end, long established brand and these light boxes met their very high standards.

The fabric face light boxes have been exported by W&Co internationally to Georg Jensen stores including Hong Kong, Australia and Denmark, with the most recent light boxes being fitted into their Flagship store on London’s Bond Street.

The illuminated displays have been supplied to make sure that Georg Jensen’s graphics make the biggest impact possible. They are produced in large format sizes from 1800 x 1200mm (6 sheet) up to 3500mm x 2500mm with the aluminium profiles powder coated grey to fit in with their shop colour scheme. Non-illuminated fabric face displays have also been supplied to compliment the light boxes in the Hong Kong stores.

The frameless light box design ensures that the focus is on the graphic and Georg Jensen have utilised this to show close up photos of jewellery printed onto the backlit fabric using a high resolution dye-sublimation process. The latest graphics are from a photo shoot in New York by fashion photographer, Sebastian Faena, as part of Georg Jensen’s new global campaign featuring Danish supermodel, Freja Beha Erichsen.
